My future job

Well, I can hardly think what I'll be doing in the future. My career is so wide, and I don't know what I want to do yet, but I least I know one thing: I want to dedicate my life to music.
It's cool now because last year I didn't know what I wanted to study, and it was a really hard decision, so knowing that I want the music present in my life it's a big step.

In my career you can learn a lot of music areas, like composing, directing, teaching, etc, so when you finish the first four years you have a lot of knowledge and you can decide if you want to specialize in an area. At the moment, I'm interested in choir directing, and I would be so happy if I can dedicate my life to that.
I think it's a cool job indoors, funny, maybe sometimes stressful, that you can share with other people, work hard, improve, travel if you are lucky, and obviously it's better thant being all day locked in an office (from my point of view). I would like to do different things too, like singing or playing in a band, composing, teaching and well, get carried away by the casuality. It would be nice too if I have the possibility to travel, to know different cultures and learn from other people.

I'm just starting my career and everything is new to me. I have some ideas of what I want but I don't know with security where I'm going to. Studying music is a beautiful experience and it makes me want to dedicate my life to this. But at the end no one knows, maybe the next year I'll decide to study law (please no!).

If today was my last day on earth

Well, I think it would be so sad if today was my last day on earth, because we all have plans for the future, the far future, so I have to think how can I make my dreams and wishes come true in just one day! And think which one is more important, because it doesn't have any sense if I buy things, spend a lot of money or do things that will "disappear" tomorrow. It would be a selfish way to spend my last day; I'm here on earth because a reason, living for and with the people, and yes, maybe I won't find the cancer cure in one day, maybe never, but if I can do anything for the people I love, my life will be paid.

I would visit family and friends, and maybe spend the day with them. I would say goodbye to some places, and why not know a lot of new places I haven't been. I'd enjoy the wind, or the sun, or the rain, the sunsets, the stars, the sky. I know it sounds sooooo melancholic, but I really think that those are the things that I enjoy the most, and also people that make my life so special.

It doens't matter if my big dreams can't come true, or if I can't buy all the things I want, or travel around the world. That things won't stay after I go. It's more important to me to leave something to the people I love, I think it's the only thing that really matters.

My favourite celebration of the year

I could say my favourite celebration it's halloween, because it's funny wearing costumes, or christmas, because you dinner with your family and give/receive gifts, or maybe new year, go partying all night long; but definitely my favourite one is the independence day, september 18th, and well, all the week.

It's not because the "fondas", "terremotos", "empanadas", "cuecas", "asados", typical things of the date (that of course I like too). That week is so special to me, because every year I go to Romeral, a small town at the south of Chile, and spend the days with my grandparents. While my friends are in Santiago going to celebrate together, I prefer to spend the week with my family and grandparents. It's like a tradition to me.
Romeral is a small, boring and forgotten town, but it means a lot to me. I can find peace and relax in there, I can enjoy the amazing food of my grandmother, I can walk in the infinite grass and breathe clean air, and I can have a great time with people I love.

The last time I went was the last year. We didn't go to Romeral this year because my grandfather is not here anymore, but we remember with love all the celebrations of each year. We'll never forget the dinners, the conversations, each time we saw together the military parade at the lunch, the adventures at the countryside, the good times. I don't know what will happen the next years, but I know it will never be the same. At least I can keep the memories forever.

Best concert ever!

It's funny because I feel that the concert was three years ago, but it was just the last year! I went to Paul McCartney's concert in april 21st in Movistar Arena. I think it was the best concert in my life! Paul came to Chile some years ago and my family went, but not me :( So, when I realized that he would return to Chile, my brother and I bought tickets quickly.

My old brother loves The Beatles, an english rock band of the '60 that I think everyone knows, so he showed me their music, and I love it. I think The Beatles are one of the best musicians not just in their times, because people love them today too. Their music transcends time, places, generations! Although they revolutionized the english rock and the way to make music, exercising an unique influence on the bands of the time, people like them until today, 50 year after.

I remember the atmosphere was absolutely cool! People of all the ages, families, young and old people enjoying the same music. Paul not just sang their own songs, but sang Beatles's songs, so it was really emotive and exciting. I felt really good, because I was enjoying the moment with my brother and listening Paul McCartney! One of the best and most famous musicians of the world! So being there was totally amazing.

That was the best concert. The best musicians, best public, best place, best moment, best company. My brother and I always remember that experience. It was something we can't forget.

A country I'd like to visit

I have travelled a lot in my life,  I visited a lot of different countries around the world, but there's a country very close to Chile that I want to visit since years, and it's Perú. It's a country full of life, with a very rich culture and a happy country. It has a beautiful latinamerican spirit that I would like to know, with all its colors and flavors, and of course a place full of pre-Columbian history.

Well, we all have seen photos of family and friends in the heights of Machu Pichu; that's typical. That doesn't mean that I don't want to go, actually I think it's a compulsory visit! But I think there's a lot of beautiful and interesting places and cities that I think everyone should visit.

If I go someday, I would like to visit a lot of cities around the country, visit the peruvian jungle, the sea, the capital, Machu Pichu of course, eat and eat a loooot of peruvian food (it's delicious!), meet people and know their culture.

I would love to spend my vacations in there, or maybe a long weekend, or just take a week and go, but I don't know if I would like to live in there. I don't know how it's life in Perú, how it's education, health, etc. Maybe it's better or worse than here, I don't know, but I like where I study here in Chile, and if I wanted to study in another country maybe I would like to go to Europe (well, in the best of the cases). However, maybe if I know better the country I'll change my mind, you never know.

A TV programme I saw as a child

When I was a child, I loved spending my evenings watching TV in my parents room (it's ironic because now I don't like watching TV). I saw a lot of TV programmes at Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, like Bob Esponja, Rocket Power, Catdog, KND, etc. But my favourite one was Los padrinos mágicos.

It was about a child who didn't have a good life, because his parents weren't at home so they called an evil babysitter, Vicky, to stay with the child, called Tommy. He was so sad, so Cosmo and Wanda, his fairly Odd Parents, appear to grant Tommy's wishes so he could be happy. It was funny because Tommy's wishes always were a chaos, and then they had to fix it all. I enjoyed the TV programme a lot, because I laughed all the evening watching it, and well, all episodes teach us a lot of values of course.

I remember my mom hated the TV programme, not because the plot, but character's voices were very shrill and that annoyed her. However, I saw the TV programme everytime it appeared on TV, everyday after school, and every weekend morning. Maybe that's why I don't like watching TV now, maybe I watched it a looooot when I was a child!

Going to London!

Next semester I'm going to visit London with my brother. We will go on september so we can enjoy the autumn. In other trips, we accumulated LAN points, so now we paid cheap tickets to London. I hope it's a wonderful trip! We are now planning all the activities we're going to do in just seven days, specially looking the weather (I hope it doesn't rain!!).

We'll arrive on saturday morning, so impatiently we will run to Westminster district to see the parliament and Big Ben! I think it's London's icon, and it's necessary to see it! Then we'll walk beside the river and have lunch somewhere. In the afternoon, we will visit Westminster cathedral in Victoria underground, all in zone 1.

In day two, we will visit Kensington Gardens, because weather is going to be great that day, so we'll spend all day in there and have a picnic. We'll use the underground and go to High Street Kensington, also in zone 1.

We'll visit London Eye on monday's morning (so exciting!). The entrance costs £19,20 it's located close to Waterloo underground, zone 1. At the afternoon, we're going to go to Madame Tussauds museum in Baker Street underground, zone 1 too (hope it's as awesome as all the people says!).

On tuesday, we'll spend an "history" day and go to British Museum in the morning. It's an advantage that most museums of London are free, like this. It's located in Holborn underground, zone 1. Then, we'll visit the Tower of London at 3 pm (close at 5:30 pm!!), and we have to pay £21,45 to enter the tower (I think it's madness!!). It's located in Tower Hill underground, zone 1.

Day 5! We're going to spend aaaaaaall day in Camden Market! I heard it's an awesome place! You can buy a lot of things, clothes, souvenirs and eat a lot of types of nice food! (hope my savings are enough). It's located in Camden town underground, zone 2.

On thursday, we're going ti visit Natural History Museum in the morning and Tate Modern Art Gallery in the afternoon, both free. First one is located in South Kensington underground and the other one in Southwark underground, both in zone 1.

The last day, we'll spend our friday in Notting hill neighborhood and Portobello road market. My brother told me that I can't visit London without going there, because it's an awesome place to know. It's located in Notting Hill gate underground, on the boundary of Travelcard zone 1 and zone 2.

I think one week is a short time to visit this wonderful city, but I just have to think that it's not the last time I will. I hope I can spend a great time with my brother and fall in love with this beautiful city! Give me luck! bye!
